Taxi vs Lyft

Is lyft supporting local or is the taxicab commission supporting local?

Addison says lyft is illegal therefore definitely not supporting our local economy. No more than justifying shopping at Target bc the people who work there are local and need jobs.

I say to get to the heart of the reason for shopping local: supporting independent human beings' autonomy to live life and support themselves and make their own American Dream. And in that sense, Lyft wins.
